NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — The North Fort Myers Fire Control and Rescue District responded to a house fire on Washington Drive just after midnight.
Upon arrival, the house was fully engulfed.
The Battalion Chief on the scene said there were three people inside the home. Two adults and one child. They all made it out safely.
There were also two pets, a dog that made it out safely, the other pet was unaccounted for and believed to still be in the house.
Arson Investigators and the local Fire Marshal is on the scene, and they have also called in the State Fire Marshal's office to investigate as well.
The power to the home has been cut, and the fire department is putting out small flare-ups.
The Battalion Chief told Fox 4 that Red Cross would help the family find shelter, food, clothing, and further assistance.
