A homeowner is safe with no injuries after a fire broke out inside of his Cape Coral home Friday evening.
Fire crews responded to the home located at 1207 SE 27th Terrace shortly after 7pm.
The homeowner, who was inside of the home, said his wife had just left town before the fire started.
It was a neighbor who noticed smoke billowing from the home and called 911, crews said.
A family cat who was inside of the house during the fire is currently being searched for.
No word on what caused the fire.
This is an ongoing investigation.
