Final funeral arrangements for fallen Cape fire engineer announced

CAPE CORAL, Fla. --- Funeral arrangements for Cape Coral Fire Engineer, Michael Camelo Jr., have been made. 

The viewing will be held on Wednesday at Gendron Funeral Home located on the 2300 block of East Mall Drive in Fort Myers from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Engineer Camelo's funeral will be at St. Andrew Catholic Church located on the 2600 block of Del Prado Boulevard South in Cape Coral on Thursday. 

In a joint Facebook message, Cape Coral Fire Department Chief Lamb and local IAFF 2424 President Chudzik wrote:

"We are overwhelmed by the support we have received since Engineer Camelo’s passing. We have been touched by the comments and posts on social media, and the funds that have been raised for his children is outstanding and has far exceeded our expectations. We are so grateful for all the community is doing to assist the Department and his family during this very difficult time." 

Engineer Camelo died from a brain aneurysm on May 31st. He leaves behind two young children and a GoFundMe account has been set up to accept donations for their future.
