FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Troopers say a Punta Gorda man died Monday after a medical episode caused him to crash his truck on Interstate 75.

70-year-old Steven Pavliak of Punta Gorda was pronounced dead at Gulf Coast Medical Center.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, Pavliak was driving south just past the Luckett Road exit (#139) around 8:30 a.m. Monday when he suffered the medical episode.

His truck veered right and bumped another car before entering the median, where it hit the guard rail three times before coming to a stop in a grassy area.

The driver of the other car was uninjured.
