Count on Fox 4 to keep you up to date with the latest information on this story.

We now know who was involved in Wednesday night's fiery crash on I-75 near Alico Road. According to the Florida Highway Patrol one them is a local political hopeful.

Officers say Jesse Purdon of Bonita Springs was behind the wheel of one of the three cars involved in that wreck.

He’s currently running to replace State Representative Ray Rodrigues for the District 76 seat.

Fox 4 reached out to Purdon for comment, but was unable to contact him.

He did, however, acknowledge the crash on Facebook, assuring everyone that he’s okay and sending prayers to the other drivers involved.

FHP says it was a chain reaction crash, one vehicle stopped for an unknown reason, the second car stopped behind it, but the third car, which Purdon was in, didn’t stop in time.

The two other drivers involved in the crash have been identified as Ana Maria Arce Valdes and Yadira Sanchez of Naples.

Valdes was taken to Lee Memorial with serious injuries.

FHP is still investigating this crash.

At this point we know that alcohol was not involved in the accident.
