LEE COUNTY, Fla — Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Lee County that claimed the life of a 47-year-old man.
Troopers say the man was on his motorcycle driving east on Summerlin Road approaching Bass Road.
A 60-year-old woman was driving an SUV west on Summerlin Road.
Troopers say the man on the motorcycle ended up driving through the grass median onto the westbound travel lanes.
They say he lost control of the motorcycle and was separated from the vehicle.
Troopers say the man ended up in the center lane of westbound Summerlin Road, and the driver of the SUV did not see him.
FHP says the driver of the SUV ended up hitting the motorcyclist and ended up on the north shoulder of westbound Summerlin.
