LEE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on South Pointe Blvd. early Saturday morning.
Troopers say the vehicle was traveling southbound on South Pointe Blvd. at a high rate speed.
Authorities say the car ran off the roadway to the right and struck a tree then caught fire.
Troopers say the driver died on the scene.
