FORT MYERS. FLA. — When you think of those impacted by Kobe Bryant's death, locally, you don't have look much farther than Florida Gulf Coast's basketball teams.
In addition to having an assistant coach who played basketball with Bryant's father, many of the men and women on both rosters were inspired by Bryant's work ethic and style of play.
Fox 4's Rochelle Alleyne spoke with two players on FGCU's Mens team, who say his death still doesn't feel real.
"Definitely someone that I looked up to and I think many people in this world looked up to as well," said Caleb Catto.
"He just meant so much to me growing up, being a basketball player," said Zachary Scott.
The FGCU men's team plays their next game in Jacksonville on January 30.
The women's team plays Liberty University in Virginia on February 1.
