CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police responded to a fatal crash involving a motorcycle on Skyline Boulevard Tuesday morning.

According to Cape Coral Police, it happened near the intersection with SW 26th Terrace, just south of Veterans Boulevard and in front of the Home Depot store.

Skyline Boulevard was shut down while they investigated the crash.

Drivers should avoid the area if possible.

**UPDATE**: Police identified the fatal crash victim as 29-year-old Kyle Rush of North Fort Myers.

They say the car was driving north on Skyline and made a turn into the path of Rush's motorcycle.

Rush, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The southbound lanes of Slyline Boulevard were closed for 4 hours during the investigation.

There's no word on if any charges have been filed.
