COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- A section of Camp Keais Road was closed due to a fatal crash Tuesday morning.
According to Immokalee Fire, the crash involved two vehicles on Camp Keais Road just south of Pope John Paul II Boulevard.
That's just east of the Ave Maria community.
Florida Highway Patrol says a dump truck was headed southbound on Camp Keais Road around 7:30 a.m. when troopers say a car driving on Pope John Paul II Boulevard failed to properly stop at a stop sign and attempted a left turn into the path of the truck.
The truck hit the driver's side of the car, killing the driver, 54-year-old Sonia Velasquez of Ave Maria.
No charges have been filed in the crash.
