UPDATE (9/20) -- Police have identified the pedestrian who was hit and killed on U.S. 41 Wednesday.

Police say 63-year-old Ronald Bond was crossing U.S. 41 near Maravilla Avenue when he was hit by a car.

UPDATE (12:30PM) -- Fort Myers Police say U.S 41 is fully open again after this morning's fatal crash at the intersection with Maravilla Avenue.

Police say the fatal crash involved a pedestrian.

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Motorists are asked to avoid a section of U.S. 41/Cleveland Avenue in Fort Myers due to a fatal crash.

According to Fort Myers Police Department, the northbound lanes of U.S. 41 are closed at Maravilla Avenue.

Emergency crews are on scene.
