UPDATE: Fort Myers Police have reopened Edison Bridge to North and Southbound traffic.
The bridge was closed due to a fatal accident on the North Fort Myers approach.
Investigators have confirmed one dead but haven't released the identity.
Drivers are asked to be cautious when driving in the area as debris cleanup may still be ongoing.
Edison Bridge (Bus US41) is reopened to North and Southbound traffic after it was closed due to a serious accident on the North Fort Myers approach to the bridge. One fatality in the incident FMPD is withholding the identity pending notification of next of kin.

LEE COUNTY, Fla. --- Lee County Sheriff's are responding to a traffic incident on Edison Bridge, Saturday morning.
Edison Bridge will remain closed, in both directions, until further notice.
Drivers are encouraged to find an alternative route.
