NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. --- A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a minivan Wednesday night on Pine Island Road.
The crash happened at 9:16 p.m. just east of U.S. 41.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the victim was walking in the outside westbound lane of the road when an approaching van hit the man, killing him at the scene.
The victim has been since identified as 51-year-old Terry Green of North Fort Myers.
There were no injuries reported in the van.
No charges have been filed in the crash.
This was the 2nd pedestrian fatality in North Fort Myers this week. Less than 24 hours before this one, a man was hit and killed in a hit and run along U.S. 41.
