Pedestrian killed in hit and run crash in North Fort Myers

UPDATE (10/25) -- Troopers say a North Fort Myers man was hit by two vehicles and killed Tuesday night on U.S. 41, and they're looking for the driver of one of the vehicles.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, 27-year-old Brian Marinelli was walking in the right southbound lane of U.S. 41 near Fork Drive just before 10pm Tuesday.

That's when an unknown vehicle hit Marinelli and didn't stop.  A 2nd car also hit Marinelli and stopped at the scene.  Marinelli was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are trying to determine the location of the first vehicle, which should have front end and windshield damage.

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. -- At least one person is dead after a crash on North Tamiami Trail in North Fort Myers Tuesday night.

Florida Highway Patrol says it happened at the intersection with Fork Drive around 10 p.m. Tuesday, near the split with Business 41.

U.S. 41 southbound was shut down for a while, but has since reopened.
