NAPLES, Fla. — Ticket sales for the Grammy-Award winning musical Hamilton kicked off Friday at Artis Naples.

Over 500 Hamilton fans showed up to Artis Naples looking to get their hands on some tickets, and thousands more waited online.

Fans began lining up outside Artis Naples since 7 Friday morning, hoping to get a wrist band.

To avoid having fans camp outside the venue, staff members gave fans wrist bands that contained numbers; those numbers were called on in random order.

"We're trying to keep things very organized handing out wrist bands so people can go into the hall, have a seat and wait for their number to be called," said Ashley Mirakian, VP of marketing at Artis Naples.

Some fans waited over five hours for tickets, but they say the tickets were worth the wait.

"I got here at 7:15 this morning, and it's now after 12, and I got four tickets, I couldn't be more excited. I'm going to bring my granddaughter for Christmas," said Jean Smith from Naples.

If you did not get a chance to get tickets for the Hamilton show at Artis Naples, there is still a chance you could.

Mirakian says they will have more tickets available leading up to the show, and the safest way to get tickets is by purchasing them on their website.

Tickets range from $89 to $399.

"Hamilton is a phenomenon, unlike anything we've ever seen before. People are so excited; they love the show, they've memorized the lyrics," said Mirakian.

Hamilton will be at Artis Naples from January 1, 2020 through January 12, 2020, before heading to the Barbara B Mann Performing Arts Hall in Fort Myers.
