LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Southwest Florida family says their teenage son was wrongly arrested for an unpaid taxi fare.
According to an arrest report, the taxi driver says he took a teenager to a home in Lehigh Acres from a Cape Coral gas station, but the teen ran off without paying.
A K-9 tracked a scent to a nearby home.
That's when Lee County deputies had the driver identify a suspect, and said the 14-year-old was the person.
Friday morning, an attorney for the family will hold a press conference disputing the claims against the teen.
We’ll update as we learn more in this developing story.
