A business owner claims that two of his employees broke into his home and left with over $30,000 in cash and merchandise, the Collier County Sheriff's Office said.
The homeowner told deputies that he left his home Thursday morning and returned later that night. He noticed that the glass sliding door to his home was open and found that his safe had been stolen, CCSO said.
Home security cameras revealed two men, identified as 22-year-old Harold Lanham and 41-year-old James Lanham breaking into the home and leaving with a safe.
The homeowner identified both men as employees and explained that the t-shirts both men were wearing were company shirts he had given them.
Inside the safe was approximately $9,000 in cash, $25,000 in jewelry, a pistol and ammunition along with various documents.
Both men were arrested and face burglary and grand theft charges. They remain in jail with a bond totaling over $100,000.
