With near-freezing temperatures forecast in Southwest Florida, the Salvation Army is opening additional accommodations to assist those needing a warm place for the night.
According to the Salvation Army of Fort Myers, they will be expanding their shelter by 40 beds at the Center of Hope, located at 2400 Edison Avenue.
Any man, woman, or child is welcome to seek shelter from the cold weather there. They can stay from 8:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. the following morning.
In Charlotte County, the Homeless Coalition on 1476 Kenesaw Street in Port Charlotte will be providing shelter.
The shelter will be open from 7:00 p.m. tonight until 8:00 a.m. Friday Morning.
