FORT MYERS, Fla. — Touring the gardens on Easter is a tradition for many locals and snowbirds alike. Edison and Ford Winter Estates is open regular operating hours on Easter Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for guided and self-guided tours.
Visitors can stroll more than 20 acres of botanical gardens and see plants and trees blooming. The 15,000-square-foot museum and historic botanic research laboratory (a National Chemical Landmark) are also open.
Guided tours are offered at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. A mask must be worn during the tour. Guided tour tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the ticket counter. Visitors should allow at least 60 minutes for the tour and additional time to view the museum and laboratory. Private guided tours are available for small groups by appointment; call 239-334-7419 to reserve a date and time.
With the self-guided tour, visitors can listen to narration on the new app, which is available in English, French, German and Spanish. Guide maps are available in English, French, German, Spanish and Chinese.
