CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – Troopers are still investigating a deadly crash near Rotonda Thursday that took the life of a Port Charlotte man.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, just before 4:30pm, a car driven by 26-year-old Michael Holland was going north on Gasparilla Road near Redwood Road when it crossed the center line and hit a small Kia head-on.
Holland died in the crash.
The person driving the Kia, 80-year-old Bernadean Porter of North Port, is in the hospital with serious injuries.
Troopers say it is unknown at this time whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
The investigation continues.
