COLLIER COUNTY-- A Collier County dredging project could happen much sooner than expected.
Next week, the county could vote to declare an emergency to repair the erosion at Clam Pass much sooner.
The inlet is in danger of filling up with sand because of last summer's rain and tropical storms.
Clam Pass has already been dredged twice in recent years, and the latest project will likely cost the county about $57,000.
