Detectives seek man who faked return at Lowes in Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police are hoping to identify a man accused of stealing items after attempting a fraudulent return at the Lowe's store in Cape Coral.

According to Cape Coral Police, the incident happened around 3pm on November 30th.

Investigators say the suspect grabbed a Shark steam mop and some cleaner from the shelf, then unboxed the mop and took it to the service desk. He then attempted to get a refund on the items, claiming he purchased them but didn't have the receipt.

When the clerk said he needed a license for the return, the suspect claimed it was in his vehicle and left with the items.
