DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. — The Arcadia Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance at the residence of a DeSoto County Deputy on April 4th.
After the Arcadia Police Department completed their investigation, it was determined Deputy Nyshonna Richardson was the primary aggressor and subsequently placed under arrest.
As the incident occurred within the city limits of Arcadia, the Arcadia Police Department responded as the primary agency.
“What she did for her years of service will be overshadowed by this unfortunate action which cannot be condoned,” said Sheriff Potter.
The Sheriff’s Office said after reviewing the available facts of the incident, Sheriff Potter decided to separate and withdraw Deputy Richardson’s appointment with the Sheriff’s Office, effective immediately.
