Deputies recover $250,000 in stolen Verizon Wireless merchandise

SOUTHWEST Fla. --- Deputies arrest three men who burglarized Verizon Wireless store on Sunday. 

Fort Myers Police were alerted by the stores alarm system and responded to the burglary on the 9000 block of Rolfes Road. 

When deputies arrived on the scene they noticed the rear door open. Officers entered the store and discovered damage to the roof and multiple items such as; cell phones, tablets and other technological accessories removed from the shelves. 

FMPD was notified by Collier County Sheriff's Office about a suspicious car traveling on I-75 Southbound in connection with the burglary at the Verizon Wireless store. 

The driver of the vehicle leading deputies on a chase before fleeing the car. The driver and two other occupants in the car were eventually caught.

FMPD and CCSO worked collectively to arrest, Osmil Hernandez, Manuel Viera and Nicolas Benitez.

The three men were transported to jail were they face charges of burglary with over $1,000.00 in damages and grand theft of property over $100,000.00. Hernandez is also facing charges for fleeing and alluding and resisting arrest.  

Investigators recovered more than $250,000.00 in stolen merchandise.
