FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Lee County investigators are trying to figure out how a domestic situation turned deadly in the Whiskey Creek neighborhood of Fort Myers.
It happened near Montilla Drive around 3 p.m. Thursday.
Lee County deputies say a woman called, saying she got into a fight with a man and was being attacked.
When deputies got there, they say they heard a gunshot inside the home and found the man dead.
“A female party advised that she was beaten and had been threaten with a gun. We used all our investigative techniques and tools, and through identifying our suspect we knew he’d be at his residence here. We came back to the residence, obtaining a search warrant, upon which time we walked up to the residence and heard a single gunshot,” said Sheriff Carmine Marceno.
Deputies haven't said who pulled the trigger.
