Detectives say child's report of kidnapping is false

Lee County Sheriff's Office released a statement Friday that the report of a kidnapping in the Villas was false. They said there's no suspect on the loose regarding this incident.

The Lee County Sheriffs Office responded to a call about a possible kidnapping of a child Thursday morning.

The incident took place near the Villas neighborhood in Fort Myers. That's in the area of Beacon Boulevard and Coronet Street.

The child is reported to be safe at this time.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a red 4 doors sedan and could be a Chevrolet. The suspect is described as wearing blue jeans, a dull red t-shirt, and a camouflage hat.
