COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. --- The Florida Department of Health in Collier County is offering free testing events for National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD).
National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is observed annually on February 7th to increase education, testing, community involvement and treatment among black communities.
All testing sites will be offering free, rapid HIV testing with same day results.
African-Americans continue to have the highest numbers of HIV compared to other races and ethnicities. In Collier County. 41 percent of men, women and children who have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS are Black.
