CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- A plume of smoke rising from the downtown area of Punta Gorda Tuesday morning is due to a debris fire.
Authorities say the fire is burning in the 500 block of Nesbit Street, just east of Tamiami Trail near East Charlotte Avenue.
No homes or structures are threatened by the fire.
