PUNTA GORDA, Fla. -- A Lehigh Acres man died Monday night when a van rolled over onto the median of Interstate 75 in Punta Gorda.
The crash happened shortly before 9 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-75 approaching the Tucker's Grade exit (#158).
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the 29-year-old man was driving a van in the southbound left lane and failed to negotiate a turn. The van ran off the roadway to the left and hit a cable barrier in the median and overturned.
The driver, whose identity has not been released yet, died at the scene.
The crash is believed to be alcohol-related.
