A 13 year-old is facing 7 charges in connection to a crime spree in a Bonita Springs neighborhood.
According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, the teen was arrested after a deputy allegedly found some of the stolen items in the teen's possession.
Several cars were ransacked and one home was broken into, according an arrest report. The teens are accused of stealing nearly $500 in belongings.
"At 13 years old you should be in bed. That’s the only place you should be,” said one woman whose car was burglarized.
This victim was one of the lucky ones. Detectives say the teens only got off with two packs of pop rocks candy from her car.
As a parent she says her concern is for the teen's safety, in the event he would have targeted someone who carries a firearm.
“They reach for their pistol and you’re going to get a bullet in your head for a pack of pop rocks or someone’s wallet? It’s not worth it,” said the victim.
She believes the teen's actions are result of a lack of effective parental guidance.
“Where are the parents; what are you doing? Why are you not checking on your kid.”
The 13 year-old is facing 7 charges for his role in the heist including grand theft.
“You’re going to face a judge and say 'yes, your honor I stole pop rocks.' Why! It’s stupid," said the victim.
She believes the teens may need help from someone at home before they keep heading down the wrong path.
"What mom needs to do, she needs to beat that butt, smack that butt and pay more attention to him.”
