COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — Crime has dropped in Collier County for the 4th year in a row.

According to the sheriff's office, preliminary figures show 4600 crimes reported in 2018 in unincorporated Collier County and Everglades City.

This is the lowest since 1984.

Sheriff Kevin Rambosk credited the drop to a combination of the agency's partnerships with the community and the hard work of deputies.

Burglary showed the most significant overall decrease from 639 in 2017 to 505 in 2018.

Homicide increased from six in 2017 to nine in 2018.
