Fire crews spent Friday evening tending to two house fires on opposite sides of Cape Coral with similar points of origin.
The first happened shortly after 7 p.m. on the 5500 block of SW 11th Place. Viewer Jack Thompson shared drone footage taken over the scene, which showed billowing smoke and ambulances pulling up to the home.
The fire appeared to have started in the garage. Heavy smoke damage was noted throughout the house. There was no word on any immediate injuries.
Within an hour of the first report, a second call for a house fire was made on SW 48th Terrace. As with the first call, firefighters worked to control a garage fire that sent masses of thick smoke throughout the attached home.
A medical team was caring for one person on the front lawn, however the extent of that person's injuries, if any, was not immediately known.
Investigations into both fires are ongoing.
