LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A crash near mile marker 124 in Estero is causing extensive backups in both directions on Interstate 75.
The crash happened shortly after 1 p.m. Monday in the southbound lanes of I-75, where Estero Parkway crosses over the roadway.
Early reports indicate a dump truck crashed into the overpass support in the median, and at least one person was injured.
A trauma alert helicopter was called to the scene.
Drivers should avoid the area between Alico Road (exit #128) and Corkscrew Road (exit #123) if possible.
