COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- A big blow for the Shy Wolf Sanctuary in Naples, as Collier County commissioners will continue to take bids on a plot of land in Golden Gate Estates.

Earlier this week we told you the Shy Wolf Sanctuary bid a million dollars on the land, located near Randall Boulevard and Immokalee Road. However, two developers outbid them.

Now one of those developers, Crown Management, is working with the sanctuary on some possibilities, like offering shelter during storms.

“We would be able to accommodate animals during disasters, during hurricanes or fires, that could come to the shelters that we build. And we could house them there for the duration," says Shy Wolf executive director Deanna Deppen.

Commissioners will continue to accept bids until June 14th at 2 p.m. We'll be sure to update you on any new developments.
