NAPLES, Fla-- The Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary will host an annual butterfly count on Tuesday starting at 9 a.m.
Amateurs and experts will team up to record all the butterflies seen within the count circle. The location is one of approximately 450 count circles in North America.
The information will help scientists gauge our ecosystem's health. Butterflies are easily affected by environmental changes and knowledge of their populations may help scientists understand these changes.
