CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- A traffic stop on a motorcyclist in Punta Gorda led to the seizure of two weapons from a convicted felon.

Detectives with the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office performed a traffic stop on 31-year-old Bo Cleveland in the area of Palmerston Avenue Wednesday for not wearing eye protection.

The detectives knew of Cleveland's past history and knew he did not have a driver's license.

As he was being taken in to custody, a black Smith & Wesson revolver was located strapped to his thigh, and further investigation led to the seizure of another firearm in Bo Cleveland’s possession, a Century International Arms AMD-65 rifle.

Cleveland, a convicted felon, was transported to the Charlotte County Jail and charged with Possession
of a Firearm by Florida Convicted Felon (2 counts) and Carrying Concealed Weapon Unlicensed Firearm.

He was also issued a criminal traffic citation for No Driver’s License.
