IMMOKALEE, Fla. — Food is always a comfort during painful times.

"Everybody eats, so. We do it to bless them, basically," said Rudy Martinez, owner Rudy's BBQ & Catering in Immokalee.

Rudy's BBQ & Catering sold $10 plates of food raising money for Adriana Arredondo's family. Arredondo was killed in a drive-by shooting in Immokalee last Tuesday. Arredondo left behind six children.

They sold a total of 160 plates, and all proceeds go toward Arredondo's funeral costs for the family.

"We try to make enough food at least to pay for half the funeral at least," Martinez said.

Arredondo's friend Amy Flores says the smallest contribution makes a difference.

"She's got middle school, high school, and daycare and they all go to school. Anything will help, go towards them, go towards the kids," Flores said.

Flores says she's thankful to live in a place that always has each other's backs.

"To Rudy, thank you, the community for helping out. If one falls, 'we're all here for each other," Flores said.

The two teens arrested in this were 19-year-old Jesus Montelongo III and 17-year-old Malachi Montelongo. Both are facing charges of second-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
