COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.-- Even though the teenager representing Southwest Florida at the Scripps National Spelling Bee spelled his last word right, he is still going home.

During one of the last rounds Bharath Ram spelled "zoomorphic" correctly.

Unfortunately, when it came time to narrow down the number of students for the final round the 13-year-old was eliminated. He did not score high enough on the written test that all students take before the bee starts.

41 finalists will compete Thursday in Washington, DC.  Part 1 of the final round begins at 10 a.m. on ESPN2.  Part 2 airs live on ESPN beginning at 8:30 p.m.
