COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — In cooperation with Collier County Public Schools and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), The Naples Zoo will be helping kids in Collier County learn about bears.

The Naples Zoo is hosting a live broadcast, ZooCon Distance Learning Program, interactively connecting local first graders with a Zookeeper at the Zoo and an FWC bear biologist on Friday, April 9, 2021, at 9:00 am.

There will be a 45-minute presentation population.

The first graders will be learning about growing up as black bears, the challenges they face, and how they can help care for the animals in their backyard.

First graders from all thirty Collier County Schools will participate in the video conference.

Of those, 15 classes will actively engage and have the opportunity to ask questions live to a Naples Zoo Zookeeper and a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Black Bear Biologist Chris Boyce.
