UPDATE Oct. 14:
According to a report from the Collier County Sheriff's Office, the man found in the canal had a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and left a suicide note at home.
Fox 4 is not naming the victim due to the nature of the man's death.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office said it is investigating a death, after deputies pulled a man from a canal, Saturday morning.
It happened along Immokalee Road near Palazzo Drive, according to CCSO.
The office does not believe a crime was committed, and said the public is safe.
