DANIA BEACH, Fla. ---- An injured boater was rescued by Coast Guards on Sunday afternoon.
Jorge Diaz, 55, was rescued approximately 11 miles east of Dania Beach.
The Coast Guard was notified about Diaz's injury both by emergency positions indicating radio beacon and a VHF-FM radio mayday call.
The station boat crew arrived on the scene, embarked two crew members onto Diaz's 22-foot vessel to assist the injured boater and escort the vessel to Boyton Beach.
Emergency medical services took the victim for further medical care.
