HENDRY COUNTY, Fla. — Hendry County deputies arrested a 17-year-old suspect on charges of attempted murder on Monday. Earlier this month, deputies say they were approached by a 17-year-old victim who told them he had been stabbed in the face.
Deputies say while they were getting first aid equipment, the victim drove himself to the hospital, where it was discovered he had been shot in the face. Deputies say the suspect had been asking to buy an Xbox from the victim.
The Hendry County Sheriff's Office says the victim settled to sell the game equipment for $150, so the victim and suspect arranged a time to complete the transaction. Deputies say when the two met, the suspect removed a firearm from his backpack and shot the victim in the head.
