MARCO ISLAND, FLa. — Marco Island has a new city manager; the city council approved Michael McNees last night.

He was picked from 5 candidates. At last night's meeting, city council members looked over his proposed employment agreement before voting to hire him.

The position opened after Marco's previous city manager Lee Niblock was fired last year.

He was charged with battery after an arrest report indicated he made advances on a woman he was interviewing for a job.

Niblock was on the job for five months.
