We’ve been checking on the people who represent you and the rest of SWFL in Congress. We wanted to know if they and their staff members are safe, and how they might be affected by what’s happening at the capitol.
Shari reached out to incoming Congressman Bryon Donalds, a Republican who represents a big chunk of Lee and Collier Counties in the House of Representatives.
Patrick reached out to Congressman Mario Diaz Balart who represents eastern Collier County and Hendry County in the House.
He also called Congressman Greg Steube who represents Charlotte County, Glades County, and a part of Lee County in the House. Rep. Steube and staff are safe, according to Carson Steelman, Communications Director for the U.S. House of Representatives.
We know it was already a busy day in the Capitol before all this happened, and we will keep you posted on when and if we hear back from local representatives.
