Check cashing store robbed at gunpoint in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Police are looking for help identifying a man they say robbed a check cashing store at gunpoint in Fort Myers on Friday.

According to Fort Myers Police, the man seen in the two surveillance images here entered the Advance America store on S. Cleveland Avenue just after 10 a.m.

Employees reported that the suspect pretended to ask for a loan and then produced a weapon and demanded money from the safe. The suspect left the store on foot with an unknown amount of cash.

The suspect is a black male wearing light colored grey shirt, tan/cream cargo pants and black sneakers. Additionally he appears to have grey facial hair on his chin area.
