UPDATE (12:00 PM)--
The body that was found in a wooded lot off of Kings Highway has been positively identified.
The deceased is 59 year old Suzanne Renee Stone.
Autopsy results are still pending.

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death.
Deputies responded to a call regarding a body located in a wooded lot off of Kings Highway in Port Charlotte on July 23.
The sheriff’s office confirmed a body was found off of Kings Highway.
The body was found by some of the homeless in the area.
Sheriffs say due to decomposition, they are unable to positively ID the victim or cause of death.
They can tell that the victim is female.
A cause of death is to be determined by the Medical Examiner.
There is no threat to the community.
