PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — They bear the badge and protect our streets, however on Feb. 27, Charlotte County deputies are adding a different kind of service to their community.
The Sheriff’s Office is taking people’s food orders for their fundraiser, Tip a Cop.
Thursday, deputies are waiting tables at Port Charlotte’s Buffalo Wings and Rings starting around lunchtime until 10 p.m.
Uniformed law enforcement officers plan to raise funds through tips provided by customers.
Organizers say the money raised from the event will go toward The Law Enforcement Torch Run which benefits Florida’s Special Olympics.
