CAPE CORAL, Fl — The rededication ceremony for the newly renovated Veteran's Memorial Arch was held in downtown Cape Coral on Saturday.
In honor of the city's 50th anniversary, the monument was renovated by pressure-washing, landscape restoration, and repainted steps.
Other renovations included a new base, reconditioning the bronze plaque, fountain restoration, and refacing to include new pumps and lights.
The medallions that represent the branches of the military were also replaced.
The outdoor ceremony included posting of the colors and the National Anthem.
Mayor Joe Coviello, the President of ACRA Electric Inc. Robert Greco, and Lt. Col. Gary Peppers were all guest speakers.
The monument was originally dedicated in 1969, and lighting, a fountain, and landscaping were added in 2000.
