Carjacking suspect caught in Fort Myers

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — The Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a carjacking at the 7-11 located at 1360 Lee Boulevard, in Lehigh Acres.

The Sheriff’s Office said the suspect fled the scene in the stolen vehicle.

Deputies learned the victim left his vehicle running and entered 7-11. Upon returning outside, the suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle by force and fled, ultimately striking the victim.

The victim was injured and was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation.

Zachary Panar, 22, was quickly located on Colonial Boulevard driving the stolen vehicle.

Panar was charged with one count of Robbery, Carjacking Without a Weapon, one count of Hit and Run With Serious Bodily Injury, and one count of Driving While License Suspended.
