PUNTA GORDA, Fla. -- Police are asking customers of a Tamiami Trail gas station to watch their bank accounts for fraudulent activity after a card skimmer was found at a pump.
According to Punta Gorda Police, it happened at the Mobil station at the corner of U.S. 41 and Burnt Store Road.
That's where they say a skimming device was found inside one of the pumps.
The device was located and removed.
Consumers who suspect that a gas pump has been tampered with should contact the gas station manager, local law enforcement or the department's consumer protection and information hotline at 1-800-HELP-FLA (435-7352).
